Advertising Management

About Ad Management

From your Admin Center Main Panel, click the button above to access the Advertising Management screen. This is where you manage ads, manage categories, manage sample ads, communicate with advertisers and other functions as explained below.

Current Ads

All ads that are placed in your mallplex will be listed in the window above. Each line represents an ad and includes the following:

To sort the ads by each of the above fields, simply click the link at the top of each column as shown below:

Sorting will help when you have lots of ads listed and need to locate a particular ad, or want to highlight several similar ads at the same time. For example, if you know the ad number you want to locate, sorting by "Ad#" will make it much easier. If you want to see what ads are not marked as paid, sorting by "$" will group them all together. If you want to find all ads that expire during specific dates, sorting by "Expires" will list them in order for you.

You can perform several Actions to ads by highlighting (clicking) them, selecting an Action and clicking Update Ads. The same Action can be performed on two or more ads at the same time by holding down your keyboards CTRL or Shift key and clicking the ads with your mouse.

Below we will explain each Action.

Publish and Mark Ads Paid

When a "FREE AD" is placed, it is automatically "published" and marked as "paid" as shown below:

When a "PAID AD" is placed, it is not viewable in your mallplex until you publish and mark it paid. When you receive payment from an advertiser, just follow the simple steps:

  1. Locate and select the ad or ads.
  2. Choose "publish and mark ad(s) as paid"
  3. Click the "Update Ads" button.

Delete Ads

You can easily delete an ad or ads at anytime. Deleting an ad automatically deletes the photo (if any) associated with it.

  1. Locate and select the ad or ads.
  2. Choose "Delete ad(s)"
  3. Click the "Update Ads" button.

Suspend Ad Publishing

If you want to temporarily block an ad from being viewed in your mallplex, you can suspend its publishing. This does not delete the ad, it just prevents it from being viewed until you republish it.

  1. Locate and select the ad or ads.
  2. Choose "Suspend ad(s) publishing"
  3. Click the "Update Ads" button.

Publish if Suspended

To republish an ad after it has been suspended follow the simple steps:

  1. Locate and select the ad or ads.
  2. Choose "Publish (if suspended)"
  3. Click the "Update Ads" button

 

Add / Delete / Update Categories

By default, WAW has a variety of categories and descriptions pre-installed. You can easily delete, edit or add your own from the screen shown below.

Sorting Mode: Gives you complete control over how categories are listed in your mall. You can switch between modes at any time.

To Add a Category:

  1. Make sure --ADD NEW CATEGORY-- is selected in Current Categories.
  2. Type a Category name and optional Description.
  3. Select a Position if using Custom Sorting Mode, or leave as is. (Can be changed any time.)
  4. Click Add.

To Update a Category:

  1. Select a category from the Current Categories dropdown box.
  2. The current Category name and Description will appear so you can make changes. To change a category's position, select it from the Position dropdown box.
  3. Click Update.

NOTE: Ads in an updated category will not be effected and remain viewable in the category until it is deleted. For example, if you update a category from "Autos" to "Automobiles", it will contain the same ads.

To Delete a Category:

  1. Select a category from the Current Categories dropdown box, then click Delete.

NOTE: Ads within a deleted category are not deleted from the mall and are still viewable in other categories they may appear in (if any), or by searching the mall, or accessing the ad URL directly.

To Delete All Categories:

  1. Click the Delete All button.

NOTE: This will delete all categories in your mall and there is no way to reverse it. If there are ads in your mall, they will still be there, but there is no way to view them other than an ad number search or using the ad URL.

Mall Category Themes

By default, WAW has a variety of Categories and Descriptions pre-installed. You can easily delete, edit or add your own to fit your mallplex theme. Mallplex themes can be as generic or specific as you want. For example, using the default Categories your mallplex would appeal to a wide range of visitors and advertisers. If you wanted your mallplex to have a specific theme, you can create all your Categories around that theme. For example, lets say you named your mallplex "The Business Opportunity Online Mall", your categories could be: work-at-home, computers, Internet, MLM, franchises, etc...The concept of a themed mallplex enables you to focus more on a specific market. Below are some other examples.

 

Add Sample Ad

Sample Ads can only be entered from the Admin Center by clicking the Add Sample Ad button at the bottom of the "Advertising Management" screen. Sample Ads are only viewable from the "Place Ads" page of the mallplex by clicking the View Sample Ads link.

Since Sample Ads will be viewed by potential advertisers and visitors to your mallplex, they serve many purposes such as:

Since Sample ads do not appear in the regular ad database, they are not viewable with regular ads. They can only be viewed by clicking the View Sample Ads link on the "Place Ads" page. For this reason, no categories need to be selected when placing a Sample Ad, even though they are displayed on the form. Selecting a category will not effect it either way.

To place your Sample Ad, click the Add Sample Ad button and complete the form which is the same as placing a regular ad. When done, click the Submit button at the page bottom. You will then be given an opportunity to upload an image to the ad.

 

Edit/Delete Sample Ad

Sample Ads can be deleted or edited by clicking the Edit/Delete Sample Ad button located at the bottom of the "Advertising Management" screen, which will direct you to the screen shown below.

  1. Select an ad. Press and hold the CTRL or Shift key down to select multiple ads.
  2. Select an action. Either delete ads, edit ad, or upload new image.
  3. Click Update Settings.

 

Broadcast Email

Without leaving the Admin Center, you can create and send emails to all advertisers in your mallplex, or just the opt-in advertisers. To do this, click the Broadcast Email button located at the bottom of the "Advertising Management" screen.

  1. Select either All Advertisers or Opt-in Advertisers.
  2. Enter the Subject for your email.
  3. Enter the Email Text and press Send Email.

 

Export Ad Database

You can obtain the names, addresses, emails and phone numbers of all advertisers in your mallplex by using the Export Ad Database function. An email will be sent to you containing the customer fields in comma delimited text format, which you can then import into a program such as Excel. This makes it easy to add your advertisers to your off-line database and mailing list.

The following fields are exported: Customer name, street, city, state, zip, phone, email

  1. Enter the complete email address you want the database emailed to.
  2. Click Update Settings.

Below is an example of the comma delimited text

Change Customer Password

When an advertiser places an ad, they create a password which is used to access the Update Ads Control Panel. If an advertiser forgets their password, or if you need to change it for any reason, you can do so by clicking the Change Customer Password button located at the bottom of the "Advertising Management" screen.

  1. Select an advertiser from the list.
  2. Enter the new password twice and click Update Settings.

 

View Your Mallplex

Accessing your mallplex from the "Advertising Management" screen is simple, all you have to do is click the View Your Mallplex button. It opens in a new browser window, which makes it easy to verify changes made from your Admin Center. Just close it to return to the "Advertising Management" screen.

Clear Log Files

Log files are created and stored during normal operation of WAW and even though these files are very small in size, they should be deleted every once in a while so they do not take up space. Feel free to click the Clear Log Files link as often as you want, but it really isn't necessary more than once a month.
